The Sacred Harp
Irish Red Ale
Malt
In the shape note singing tradition, four musical sections face inward to a "hollow square" and sing anthems and hymns from the songbook, The Sacred Harp.
It's not a performance. There's typically no applause. Performers share in the conductor role. It's egalitarian, democratic and literally centered around the joy of song -- and community.
Like the songbook, this beer draws from Irish and English traditions, with a Southern sense of place.
